And it’s a free ebook – The Business You Were Born To Create by Nick Williams. See http://www.inspired-entrepreneur.com/ for your free copy)

Help with Relationships…

I came across this today – Ariel Ford is a writer, amongst other things and I often read her posts on Spirit Library. I normally only recommend books I have read so I would like to make it clear that I have not read this but wanted to share the details with you anyway.

In days where couples often struggle to understand each other, I felt it was quite important to share this. This theory is based on an old Japanese ideology. See Ariel’s video:

You Can Heal Your Life…..

I just spent one and a half hours watching Louise Hay’s You can Heal Your Life – The Movie.  Very powerful indeed.

Here is the Trailer.

I have read the book a few times but the movie really resonated with me – I am more of a visual person! I really like Louise’s work.

Do Something Altruistic For Someone Everyday……..

This is a lovely exercise I found in the book – The Gift Of Peace – Thoughts for a Peaceful World written and produced by The Brahma Kumaris:

Do Something altruistic for someone everyday.

Develop the habit of enjoying doing this, not for any reward but just for the sake of it and discover the fruit of that action.

The best gift is to give happiness and to finish sorrow.

Has anyone read the Writings of Florence Scovel Shinn?

These are four short books amalgamated into one. It is the second time I am reading this. Florence lived from 1871 to 1940’s but her words are very relevent in todays life. If you have heard of The Secret – it is kind of like that but clearer and deeper in meaning. The four books are:

There are very useful affirmations that I wrote and recited daily the first time that I read this book a few years ago. I would highly recommend this.

Your Destiny……………

This is an excerpt from The Upinshads – translated by Eknath Easwaran. You can look this up on a search engine to gain a background. It’s an ancient Indian text/philosphy. Well worth a read.

“As a person acts, so he becomes in life. Those who do good become good; those who do harm become bad.

Good deeds make one pure; bad deeds make you impure.

You are what your deep, driving desire is.

As your desire is, so is your will.

As your will is, so is your deed.

As your deed is, so is your destiny.”

Excerpt from Yoga and the Path of the Urban Mystic about the Ego…….

I would like to share this with you – I found this really interesting. I highly recommend reading this book. I learned loads.

“the ego can be very clever at making us think we need all sorts of things that we don’t, and these things do nothing but distract us from our innate sense of peace and contentment. It is this on which so much of our economy is built. Although we are told we live in a capitalistic society, we really live under commercialism. In capitalism, people produce buy and sell products based on supply and demand. The demand part of the equation is supposed to be about need.

Under commercialism, the same equation is used, but consumers are made to think they need things that they really don’t. This causes them to work harder, spend more and earn less. This dynamic not only serves large corporations, but it also serves the egos.

The ego loves to keep us looking for peace in places where we will not find it. As long as you believe you can find peace in a faster car or a better stereo system, you will continue to look for peace but never find it. When you do this, you are damning yourself to a life of wondering in the dark, feeling around for something that is not there.”

Wonderful Quote….

A Beautiful Piece on Peace……………

You are what you think. Think that you are a being of peace, and peace will become your new personality. share good news with others. Always have something interesting prepared to share with those you meet. Remember to have a peaceful thought at least once a day.

Healing Hypnotherapy by Glenn Harrold MBSCH Dip CH…….

I bought this CD last year with a whole load of other similar ones but only just picked it up now. I am a great believer in ‘there’s a time and a place’ so this is the right time for me to look at this.

I have literally just finished the session and can I just say, it was great. I actually felt things happening in my body like blockages being removed and clearing going on. Glenn has a soothing but practical voice for this. The content was great and I could follow this with ease. I always like listening to these things a few times so that the information really sinks in so I’ll do that. It’s too soon to see the results but I will keep you updated.

I was just on Glenn’s website and quite surprised that I had not heard of him yet. I love the fact that he says he wanted to use hypnotherapy to heal rather than entertain and I respect Glenn for saying that.

There is an abundance of great information and Auranics definitely recommends Glenn’s work. All products including downloads are very reasonable in price. He promotes his work through:

His books include titles such as:

  • Sleep well every night
  • look young live longer
  • lose weight now!
  • De-stress your life in 7 easy steps

Certainly worth a closer look!

The Secret…………

“The Secret reveals the most powerful law in the universe. The knowledge of this law has run like a golden thread through the lives and the teachings of all the prophets, seers, sages and saviors in the world’s history, and through the lives of all truly great men and women. All that they have ever accomplished or attained has been done in full accordance with this most powerful law. Without exception, every human being has the ability to transform any weakness or suffering into strength, power, perfect peace, health, and abundance. Rhonda Byrne’s discovery of The Secret began with a glimpse of the truth through a 100 year old book. She went back through centuries, tracing and uncovering a common truth that lay at the core of the most powerful philosophies, teachings and religions in the world. What Rhonda discovered is now captured in The Secret, a film that has been viewed by millions around the world. The Secret has also been released as an audio-book and printed book with more than 16 million copies in print in over 40 languages. The Secret reveals the natural law that is governing all lives. By applying the knowledge of this law, you can change every aspect of your life. This is the secret to prosperity, health, relationships and happiness. This is the secret to life.”

Read the book or watch the film. Highly recommended.

A Quote from “The Gift Of Peace”

www.bkwsu.orgThe Gift Of Peace is a small book published by the Brahma Kumaris that will cost you £2.00. The book was written by on of the long serving students and teacher of the Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University just after he visited New York 3 weeks after September 11th 2001. It is a fantastic collection of thoughts, sayings and advice on how to be peaceful and happy.

Here is one excerpt that hit home for me:

Circumstances are like objects. They are not alive; you bring life to them.

The positive is more powerful than the negative. The positive is innate. The negative indicates what is missing inside you. Light exists and its absence is darkness.

Never forget you are a human being who can decide the attitude you take in life.

You have an enourmous positive inner potential still to be discovered. these thoughts will help you face any circumstance in life with a different perspective.

This resonates a lot of truth for me when I sit back and think about it.

The Happiness Project…..

www.happiness.co.ukI came across Dr Robert Holden’s work in a magazine. He and his team run The Happiness Project – a fantastic organisation dedicated to helping people be happy.

I admire Dr Holden’s work because of it’s simplistic approach. All of his work revolves around a God given birth right – and that is to be happy. We all have it inside us. Everyone and everyone can relate to that.

Quote taken from the “About Us” section on their website:

The Happiness Project is a remarkable success-story that continues to unfold day by day. The cast of The Happiness Project includes top psychologists, life coaches, business leaders, spiritual ministers, leading physicians, great musicians, actors and poets – all of whom are fired with a passion to serve and inspire. Formed in 1996, we are rapidly approaching our tenth year in existence. A big thank you to everyone who has participated in our growth.

There is an abundance of information and many tools to go through on his website. They do Public Talks, Workshops, and Health & Wellbeing Seminars, Success Intelligence Masterclasses & Coaching and lots more.

Their prices range from as little as £10 for a Talk to a few hundred pounds for a Workshop. I would have been interested in a talk soon but it’s the night before my birthday so I can’t. But I will try and attend a Talk or Seminar soon and give you some feedback.

I will always be impressed by people like this who dedicate their lives to wellbeing causes. Of all the things they could do with their time on Earth, they choose this.

8 Human Talents…….

8 human Talents

Whilst we are on the subject of Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa, I thought I would write a post about her book – 8 Human Talents. Now I don’t say this lightly but this book is one of those that gives you the tools to achieve pure physical, mental and spiritual stability – if you put what she says into practice and continue to do so. The 8 human talents are a deep explanation and analysis of each of our 8 chakras. Each Chakra is summerised as the following descriptive word – Acceptance, Creativity, Commitment, Compassion, Truth, Intuition, Boundlessness and finally Radiance.

Her methods include Kundalini Yoga, Hatha Yoga and Meditation. She defines these perfectly on her website where the extracts below have been taken from:

“What is Yoga?

Yoga is a tradition and a science with roots in ancient India that has evolved over centuries to embrace the wisdom of many places and times. Although it means something different to each person, it is rooted in oneness or returning to the Source.  Throughout history, it has been split into various “schools” focusing on different aspects of yoga.  Each branch is of the same tree, the tree of the Self.  Yoga means union.

What is the difference between Kundalini and Hatha yoga?

Hatha yoga is the physical branch of the yoga tradition and focuses on the structure of the body to help relieve stress and to provide strength in one’s mind and body.  In learning the asanas (yogic postures) of Hatha yoga, a sense of health and vitality is created to help prepare for meditation.  Hatha yoga can decrease stress, regulate metabolism, and heal many physical ailments.  Practitioners leave class with a deeper connection to their bodies, muscular flexibility, strength, relaxation, concentration, and overall well-being and health.

Kundalini yoga uses breath, yogic postures and meditation to help maintain a healthy spine helping to strengthen the nervous and glandular systems.  Each class can help one become aware of much more than just the strength of the body.  It helps to facilitate a change physically as well as emotionally and spiritually.  Kundalini yoga is yoga for the mind, body, and spirit.”

I picked it up and read it about 7 years ago but really need to read it again. I’m staying with my Mum at the moment as she isn’t very well but as soon as I get home, I will pick this up again. I was looking at her site yesterday and felt a compelling desire to learn what Gurmukh has to teach.
