In the words of the late and great 2pac Shakur…

ONLY GOD CAN JUDGE ME – and I totally agree with him. No one else – not my parents, not my siblings, not my extended family, not my friends…no one but God. Just love me for who I am – that’s all I ask.  

This was a valuable lesson for me to learn because I grew up in a family who thought (and still do) that they own me and I have to conform to their way of life.

I don’t conform, in fact I am the opposite of their norms but it doesn’t bother me because of this saying. My higher power knows who I am and I don’t have to justify anything to anyone else. And this makes me happy.
