I would highly recommend this talk to anyone. I’ll be there.

Experiencing Inner Power & Protection Series

Build Resilience, Focus Your Mind, Relax Your Heart

A conversation and experiential evening with Manda Patel and Mike George

Every day, people rely on their inner strength and courage to make difficult choices in life, perhaps finding an experience of strength and protection that is beyond their perceived capacity.

How do we harness this inner strength?  What effect do these experiences have on our own lives and the lives of those around us?  Can some of these experiences be attributed to Divine protection?  If so, how do we access it?

Mike George is an author, motivational speaker and teacher of meditation and spiritual development for over 20 years.  His publications include Learn to Relax, The 7 AHA’s of Highly Enlightened Souls, In the Light of Meditation and Don’t Get Mad Get Wise.

Manda Patel Director of the Global Retreat Centre in Oxford, began her spiritual studies in London 27 years ago and has since become a well known figure on the world speaker’s circuit where she lectures on values and spiritual development in everyday life.

SELF Awareness & Personal Enlightenment Retreat Weekend in Bath (UK), August 2009

The Wonderful Mike George

I am seriously considering going to this one. The agenda looks really good and the cost is very reasonable for a 3 day retreat. Plus it is hosted by the wonderful Mike George whom I have a lot of respect for. Take a look:

Invitation to a Weekend Retreat

A Work in Progress!

Life is a process not a result, a journey not a destination, a work in continuous progress. It’s easy to spend too much time focussing on outcomes and striving for achievement, and thereby miss the beauty and the magic of the journey, not to mention the lessons along the way.

We each create our own journey much as a painter paints her painting and a composer refines his symphony. Everyone has a song in their heart and everyone has a canvas called the ‘mind’ on which they will create the panorama of their life. Have you found your song and if so how does it sound? Have you started on your canvas and if so how does it look?

You are warmly invited to join one of the weekend Self Awareness Retreats which offers the gifts of insight and understanding, meditation and silence, the company of fellow creators and a chance to relax and look at yourself and life very differently.

To help you sustain your ‘creative process’, and whatever inner work you initiate during the weekend retreat, you will receive a weekly refresher by email for 18 weeks.

There is much more information on the website– ie full costs and itinerary. Cost-wise, I think £175 for 3 days and accommodation is very reasonable.

If you cannot make this one, you can join the mailing list and get information on future events. Send your mailing address to info@awarenessretreats.com

The Wonderfully Knowledgeable Mike George…

Relax7

I had not heard of Mike George until I went to a talk he gave recently, organised by the Brahma Kumaris. I have since then spoken to quite a few people who also admire his work so I have decided to dedicate this post to Mike.

The talk was about how we need to live in the present, not the past and not planning the future…the now. I was very impressed with his words and wisdom and gained a lot from that talk. Mike is a successful Author, public speaker and he runs Awareness retreats.

Mike has a great website with lots of free information and advice on how to be free and live your live well. I subscribe to his mailing list and get some really useful emails through.  5000 people already subscribe. If you want to, click here. Well worth it. Lots of good information on there. And it’s all free.

Mike’s Books include titles such as:

I haven’t read any of his books yet but judging by what I thought of him when I met him and after reading his newsletters, I would certainly not hesitate to recommend his work.
